New Maternal Care Taskforce to build partnerships & innovative solutions through technology, at a global scale in 2017.
Top industry players from tech, satellite communications and pharma including Microsoft, UBER, SES, MSD for Mothers, Maternity Foundation and UCB, together with representatives from international organisations such as UNFPA and IOM, met in Brussels during Safe Motherhood Week, to explore and co-develop disruptive solutions through technology that will generate real impact and value for mothers, parents and children today . The consortium of stakeholders committed to a global ecosystem approach to tackling maternal care issues, in order to ensure scalability of the initiatives and empowerment, which will be the main focus of our activities in 2017.
Executive Workshop Program:
Healthy mothers and babies mean healthy societies. We all have a role to play in making motherhood safe.
Safe Motherhood Week brings together diverse people and organisations from all backgrounds and sectors around a shared goal. Our partners all have the desire and unique expertise to bring to the table in developing practical solutions to improve care for mothers and parents. Building on the theme “Embrace maternal rights”, our campaign message this year is “Motherhood shapes our future. We all have the power to make it safe.”
During Safe Motherhood Week 2016, on September 29 we are organizing an exclusive event and workshop with a select list of attendees to discuss the challenging facing mothers and parents today, and to explore how we can use innovation and apply visionary ideas and approaches from across all sectors to ensure the best possible motherhood and pregnancy experience for all women.
Goals and Outcomes
We believe that challenges related to mothers’ accessibility to healthcare and quality of care are all rooted under the same overarching issue: the struggle of our society and its systems to deliver appropriate care to mothers.
Our increasingly connected world provides an opportunity. Individuals and organizations across all sectors and backgrounds can contribute to solving issues impacting all of society, and have the power to quickly test and sort what works from what does not work, and scale up what works. The goal of this workshop is to explore and co-develop disruptive solutions that will enable safer motherhood and better care, taking advantage of a shared value approach to generate real impact and value for mothers, parents and children today.
